Who Should Join

CEB is designed exclusively for chief executives and owners of private companies headquartered in the Washington, D.C. capital region. Membership is by invitation only upon the recommendation of an Advisory Council Director or other senior business leader.

The CEB program is specialized for executives who lead growth-oriented businesses. Further, many CEB members anticipate one or more major "change events" in the next 2-5 years that could have significant impacts on the future of their companies. These "change events" could include: an acquisition, merger, sale, substantial restructuring of their industry, a new product line addition, executive succession, family member succession/exit, a corporate financing event, organizational or management restructuring, or a personal change in the CEO's role. CEB members prepare themselves and their companies to weather these and other changes successfully while still achieving substantial growth of their business.

CEB membership is not suitable for...

•  Executives of public companies, government agencies, or non-profit organizations
•  Executives who are engaged in a major corporate "turnaround"
•  Executives who are managing companies that are not in an active growth mode
•  Executives who do not anticipate any major change in their industries or
companies in the next few years.

Finally, CEB members share these qualities:

•  They are open to sharing and
    receiving counsel from other
    senior executives in a
    candid environment
•  They are intentional about
    growing their businesses...not
    just running them
•  They keep their commitments...to
participate in CEB and to honor both
    time and confidential information of
    their fellow CEB members
